This is a good question. I tried plantur 39 a couple years ago, it did not help at all. And Alpecin I tried after plantar 39, which was about the same. In terms of keeping hair looking and feeling nice, they both were average.

in terms of actual hair thickening, neither really helped. I used up about 3 bottles for each (im obsessed with using at least 3 of something, or 3 months minimum use of something).

I won’t recommend going for those based on my experience. I ended up getting prescribed a hair care routine which involved some products but mainly it the routine that created the results for me, and it is as follows:

  • scalp massage daily for 10 minutes
  • using immortals oil (from immortalsoil.com) and rosemary oil (interchanged) 3x a week
  • collagen powder 2x a day (hydrolyzed version from bovine is best)
  • fragrance free shampoo which stops harming the hair follicles further compared to normal shampoos

the scalp massage does many things - it increases circulation, and in turn this reduces DHT and some inflammation - the immortals oil further decreases inflammation, making room for new growth and recovery of lost hair (for men and women), the collagen adds nutrition needed as building blocks, many people think its biotin or something but actually it collagen that does this but cannot work if you dont do the rest of the hair routine as mentioned although you can try.

def alpecin did not work for me nor did any of these caffeine shampoos. Caffeine does not do what they claim it does, it only shows results in vitro, which are outside the body - meaning no affects of hormones, toxins and DHT are affecting the hair growth when they did the tests.

i agree with @Jerry21 - regimen is only of the only ways to help hair growth for men and women. and ive said this a lot in this forum, but immortals oil is the few single products i would trust, as well as collagen supplement (powder form is best, more expensive is usually better quality but you dont have to get the most expensive).

cant believe most people still think a single method is their answer when you have so many bells and whistles for just growing 1 hair strand. I guess people are lazy and want an easy solution.

i was doubtful about caffeine based shampoos anyway, just wanted to hear everyones view and experience on it. i guess the public buys whatever looks popular rather than what actually might work.

i will try the regimen mentioned by you @Jerry21
